There are sulphur miners who mine traditionally. Another destination is turtle beach, situated in Meru Betiri National Park. Itinerary of this tour package:
Day 1: Surabaya/Malang/Banyuwangi – Hotel in Ijen
- Our Agent Ijen Travel guide Team will meet you in Surabaya or Malang (airport,station, and hotel) or Ketapangng harbour in Banyuwangi and drive you to hotel in Mount Ijen.
- It takes about 6-7 hours driving from Surabaya or Malang, and 2 hours from Ketapang harbour Banyuwangi. When you reach hotel, check in and rest.
Day 2: Paltuding – Ijen Crater – Sukamade Turtle Beach
- At 01.00 a.m your driver will wake you up and then take you to Paltuding approximately 45 minutes driving. Paltuding Post is the initial post to Ijen Crater.
- Arrived at the Paltuding parking area. start trekking to the crater about 2 to 2.5 hours to reach the top of Ijen Crater. After reaching the peak at 2.800 meters, wacth panorama of Ijen crater lake, bluefire and see the traditional sulphur miners.
- After you have finished veiwing panorama. back down to Paltuding post and then proceed towards Sukamade beach.
- The journey will take about 4 hours from Paltuding Post. After reaching Sukamade, check in lodgment and rest. you can see panorama of sunset from the beach. At 20.00 p.m. you will be invited to see turtles laying their eggs at the beach untill 24.00 p.m.
Day 3: Sukamade Turtle beach – Surabaya/Malang/ Ketapang Harbour
- In the morning, our agent wll invite you to see turltle preservation and you coud join an activity of releasing hatchling into the sea.
- When you have enough enjoying at the beach, then the agent will take you back to Surabaya/Malang or to Ketapang Harbour in Banyuangi.
